EHPM launched its proposal for a Graded Approach to the assessment of Botanical Health Claims on Tuesday 26 January via the online event “Botanical Health Claims on Foods & Food Supplements in the EU”.

More than 300 attendees participated to the launch of the EHPM proposal for a Graded approach to the assessment of Botanical Health Claims. Attendees listened to and participated in the discussion with Ms Olga Goulaki, Policy Officer at DG SANTE Unit E1 ‘Food information and composition’ – European Commission; Mr Jonathan Griffith, Chairperson of EHPM Botanicals Working Group; Mr Joris Geelen, Manager at Food Law Consult; and Christine Juhel, Scientific Director at CEN Nutriment. The event was moderated by Director General Livia Menichetti.

The high interest of attendees was stressed by the high number of pertinent questions asked to the speakers. Many of these received answers during the exchange of views, many more will be answered in writing by the speakers and send via email to the attendees.
