The EHPM 2023 General Assembly (GA) took place in the Louise Hotel Brussels – MGallery on Wednesday 22 February. This was the first GA organised in presence since the beginning of the pandemic.

On Wednesday 22 February 2023, the EHPM 2023 General Assembly was held in the Louise Hotel Brussels – MGallery. It was great welcoming and meeting EHPM Members in presence for the first physical GA organised since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was a perfect occasion for Director General Livia Menichetti to present last year’s main achievements and activities with the launch of the EHPM Annual Report 2022, but also to outline EHPM’s holistic public affairs strategy for 2023.

In the year ahead, we will concentrate our efforts to further promote the quality and safety of food supplements in the EU and to improve the perception of the role that supplements can play in the betterment of citizens’ lives. Quality and Safety are indeed closely interlinked and our sector makes sure that these aspects are present from the beginning of the production to the post-market stage. In this regard, EHPM developed various useful tools and initiatives for the industry, such as our Quality Guide and the recently-launched vigilance pilot project on Red Yeast Rice.” – DG Livia Menichetti

Moreover, the Chairs of the EHPM Working Groups (Botanicals, Regulatory & Quality, Probiotics) and of the Task Forces (Red Yeast Rice and Novel Foods) summarised the achievements and priorities of their respective groups.

This GA was also a statutory meeting, during which the 2022 Financial Report and 2023 Budget were presented and formally approved by the GA. Besides, the EHPM Board Members were re-elected for another 2-year term, with Antonino Santoro confirmed as Chair.

I am delighted to be confirmed as chair of EHPM and I thank all our Members for their trust. I am proud to continue representing the European Federation that promotes the important role of food supplements in the betterment of consumers health. Our Association is well managed by its Secretariat and can count on the precious work and contributions of our Member Associations & Companies and the technical expertise of the EHPM Working Groups’ and Task Forces’ Members. Together, our voice is stronger!” – EHPM Chair Antonino Santoro
